Do you want to append a date automatically when you open and close a notepad file?

Add .LOG to the first line of the notepad file. Save and close it.

From then on, whenever you open and close it, the notepad file will have a datetime stamp on it so you will know when it was opened.

I use this to update tasks done in office so that I can fill the timesheets on Friday evenings.
